Bennets Performance
Okay, you saw the pix here of the Bennetts performance S&S bike.
Well, they ran at the Bub nationals and had some major handling problems.
The fork that they were running that would have been fine on the street yet at 120mph the bike went into a bad shake! Not a place that you want a shake, Eric said he had never felt anything like it. They have since made some changes to the frame and have installed the tried and true 39mm Showa fork.

So, they are going back to the salt next week for the World Finals, Eric said that the bike had so much power that he didnt even get it out of second gear out there and was pissed that he didnt have a chance to get the power to the salt!.
So, as all things should be inline, lets have em get that fucker up into 5th and break 200!

Well boys and girls...
I'm in Iowa again (big surprise), Jeff Wright (Church of Choppers, duh!) and I are headed to Sturgis at some point tonight.
We both have our S&S 50th build off bikes going in the AMD show, and we both have bikes in Mike Lichter's Stay Gold show. Brawny Built also has a bike in the show as well.
Sturgis, wow, I'm really not one for big rally events but I have always had alot of fun at Sturgis.
A ton of killer people will be there, killer friends, you name it.
Jeff won't be out there the whole time, but I will be, well til the night of the 8th at least...
I'll be sending pix from my phone to the blog as often as possible as well.
I'm hoping to get a ton of shooting done out there, and will be goin all over.
For sure, I am going to go to as much of this as possible:

Other than that, find me if you are there, I'll be around....
and
as soon as I get back i have a bunch of product to pick up from the polishers to ship.

Bennett's Performance - Long Beach, CA
Well, you all have read how the Bennett's did with this bike at the S&S 50th.
and on top of that this bike runs like a raped ape.
Eric was at our party and I asked him when they were going to run the bike on the dyno as they had to do some more tuning. He called me up and told me to come by, and of course I brought my camera.
This is the bike sitting on the dyno, prior to the their first run.

This is the tach on the second run.

here's the reading of the 185hp that it pulled!

Here is a scan of the actual printout!

Here is the rear wheel as its running at 7000rpm in 3rd gear, that wheel is moving just under 150 mph! and damn even with earplugs in this mother fucker is LOUD! on top of that you feel it in your gut like a fueler going by at full throttle.

Hows that sprocket?

Now, their goal was to get 185 hp out of it, and then once they do that they need to make it slippery so it can cut through the air clean and drag free. Hence the body that Eric is standing in!

Well, they want to be in the 200mph club with this bike and I bet they can do it!
Bob and Eric Bennett

Oh yeah, they swapped pipes out for true duals and lost 3hp! so thumbs up to the two into one, which Eric and I agree two into ones rule!
Good luck guys, well, it's not about luck, lets hope the salt is good enough for this bike to do it!

Church of Choppers S&S 50th Entry
If you ever look at my blog, you already know how much I love this bike, almost as much as the Hammer of God...

This is the other bike, including Bennett's and mine (Duh!) that got perfect scores from me.

Besides the fact that Jeff is one of my best friends,
the way he builds is, well, inspiring to say the least.
The short time I rode this bike, I didn't wat to get off it!

Bennett's Performance - Long Beach CA S&S 50th bike WINNER in class!
Bennetts Performance
Long Beach, CA
WINNER in the T Class!

This bike is as purpose built as any bike on the planet.
Destroked 126" motor to get it under 2000cc for its class at Bonneville
170 rear wheel horepower when they first dynoed it
as of this week it should be dialed and over 190 rear wheel horsepower.
Bennets already hold the LSR for the 2000cc and under, pushrod, nornally aspirated engine on gas at 192mph and change. In september they hope to break into the 200 mph club with this bike and be the ONLY normally aspirated push rod vtwin on gas EVER in the club!

Bennetts Performance
let me also add that they are the ONLY american bike builder to win a class in the S&S 50th build off! my hats off to em!

The WINNER of the S&S 50th Buildoff
Hot Dock - Tokyo Japan

This bike is amazing, to be quite honest, its got so much amazing stuff on it that you could split it up betweeen three bikes and still win the show with it!
Keiji Kawakita's work is unbelieveable, top notch, work.
and I am convinced that the man does not sleep, but I know he eats, becasue I had lunch with him and his daughter Hiromi last year, so I know he does that, but sleep, i don't know...
The rockerboxes alone are mind blowing...

Skeeter Todd's S&S 50th Build off bike.

now, at first glance this bike looks like an XL with a stretched swing arm, no big deal.
But as I had to judge all these bikes, i sat and looked at it, and looked and looked! This bike has sooo much neat shit that you'd never notice that it fuckin rules. Lets just say extended swingarm pivots to swing the fully modified and re-tapered honda Blackbird swingarm!
It was a pleasure to finally meet Skeeter, I hafve always liked his work but after talking with him I have a new found respect for him and his love for motorcycles that are riders!
killer bike.
Chris Olsen Customs S&S 50th build

this bike is sweet, pretty much spot on period style, parts and everything.
Harmon fork, killer paint , I love it!
