Damn! That's a rare photo Dave. That's a Night Fighter with the radar on the right wing and twin 20mm cannons in the wings instead of the three .50 cal Brownings.
Hell yeah that's a night fighter! That half tear drop shape on the side of the fuselage, just above the mechanics head, is a screen to shield the pilot from the light of the exhaust flame that comes out from behind the engine cowl flaps.
