Once feared by the ancient aztec gods, Xolotl, the god of death and lightning, before being banished by the other gods, changed from his monstrous, dog-headed personification into the creature we now know as the Axolotl. Possessing the ability to regenerate severed limbs and the ability to breath air as well as with the use of it's gills, it is now on the endangered species list. But really it's just a big pink salamander. Just a little piece of info that stuck.
